Alistair Newton resides in Massachusetts where he divides his time between writing about O'Keefe and fishing for Striped Bass and trout when they are in season.

The writing bug struck Mr. Newton early on when he started reading such classic authors Mark Twain, Zane Grey, Sir Walter Scott and James Fennimore Cooper. During College he learned to reasearch and write for publication and graduated from an Ivy League University. He later earned two advanced degrees while working in industry and the public sector. There he wrote extensively for many different clients and developed the concise, focused style you see displayed in Murry's Malady.

He joined writers groups, attended writer's seminars and took courses in creative writing and literature while working and raising a family. Writing short stories and plays, he expanded his efforts into full length novels and this is when Murry was born. Unfortunately, Mr. Netwon suffered rom a terminal lung disease and was forced to postpone the publication of Murry's Malady. However, during this recuperation from a lung transplant, he continue to write and now has several sequels to his first novel in the O'Keefe series.

A native of Texas, Mr. Newton has traveled extensively throughout the United States and he writes from his own experience. He is a qualified pilot and a sailor and has lived in New York. This is what prompted him to choose the setting for Murry's Malady on the North Fork of Long Island where O'Keefe lives in a cottage on a wildlife refuge left to him by his grandfather. This is sailing county. The Greenport/Shelter Island area is famous for its harbors and accessibility to Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. The proximity of Long Island to New York City and the financial markets of the world make this a perfect location for the sort of skullduggery O'Keefe loves to investigate.
