THE FIREWORKS are COMING

The second book in the O'Keefe series is FIREWORKS, slated for publication in early spring of 2007. O'Keefe is invited to the in-laws 4^th of July picnic which includes a spectacular fireworks display. However, the picnic turns deadly and O'Keefe finds himself involved in a conspiracy at the highest levels of the government. As the violence escalates and decent people become victims, he decides that, "Enough is enough!" and he goes on the offensive. The bad guys make a really big mistake when they make it personal and O'Keefe becomes their worst nightmare. While this is all happening, Jack Sullivan, Bill's ex-father-in-law, asks a special favor.

"What do you want me to do, Jack?"

"Get my money back, Billy. I don't care how you do it. I know how you work. You can do things the police can't. I don't care how you do it. Just do it!"

The odds seem impossible as O'Keefe again confronts the evil SARTXE and its apparent hold on everyone around him but he knows better. This is his kind of game and no one does it better.

"One thing we learned in Viet Nam was not to let the enemy rest no matter what the circumstances. It was time to go on the offensive. If SARTXE thought they'd been stung before, they would be surprised at what was coming at them. The high and powerful lords of SARTXE sat in judgment in their boardrooms and back rooms. I would launch an archaeological expedition and dig around until I found the cornerstone that SARTXE was built on and then I would pull it out from under them and watch the whole thing come tumbling down."

William Thackery O'Keefe does not like things that go boom and he does not like insurance companies that steal people's money and then kill to cover up what they have done. As things get ugly, O'Keefe goes on the hunt, pursuing the case to its gruesome end where there are no longer any rules. The words of his CO from Viet Nam echo in his mind as he concludes his search.
